Current Ontario model: as of July 1, 2026, Ontario uses a single NP classification and the CNPLE as the national entry-level registration examination for applicable new NP applicants.

The blueprint spans the lifespan and multiple practice settings.

Ontario CNPLE process

CNO determines your eligibility to write the CNPLE.
Submit exam registration through CNO's applicant/member portal as directed.
CNO sends eligible candidate information to Meazure Learning.
Meazure Learning provides access to seat reservation/exam delivery steps.
Confirm test-centre details, complete the platform tutorial and pay the exam fee as instructed.
Attempt limit: CNO allows up to three attempts at the NP registration examination before Registration Committee review applies.
